6:40Some folks from the the Elliott here we have Michelle Parker

6:46and

6:49The CEO and Teresa moison the CFO with us so welcome

6:56And I'm not sure if we have is that little bit we have with us too. Okay. Great. Thank you. Welcome. Okay, so

7:03the first is the

7:05Is 3.1 the Elliott long-term care residents quarterly report?

7:102003 q3 and

7:13Do you have any comments?

7:16Michelle before we

7:19discuss it

7:21Through you to chair downer. Yes. Um, no, I don't have any comments at this point in time. Thank you

7:26Happy to take any questions with the team here

7:29Okay, that's great. So I'm just

7:32Would somebody be willing to put this on the floor the motion to receive this report councillor Boussatel

7:39seconded by councillor Richardson

7:42Okay, are there any questions? I

7:44Have one two so

7:47Councillor work. Thank you very much chair downer through you to miss Parker or

7:52Miss moison. I'm just wondering the package didn't have an update on the construction of the new long-term care beds

7:59We do receive an update, but I'm wondering if you wanted to give us an update in this forum

8:04So from a financial perspective the construction first started in October

8:17So we'll have up to date information at the next quarterly

8:24Report to committee of management

8:31So through chair downer to miss moison, I'm just wondering if you want to give us an update on, you know, it's on time

8:36It's on budget. It's going well just some

8:40Color maybe

8:42Sure, certainly. Thank you the

8:45So we are on budget and on time at the moment

8:48there's no

8:50Nothing that's come to light at this point that

8:53Indicates we're going off schedule

8:55And we're actively managing the financial aspect as well and no

9:01Nothing's come in at this point that would indicate that we wouldn't stay within budget

9:06That's terrific. Thank you

9:09Thank you, are there any other questions

9:14Yep, go ahead on the financials. Thank you. I apologize. I highlighted a whole bunch of questions and

9:21Maybe didn't save it. So just from memory here

9:24It was around the staffing cost of four hours and it was happened after budget time. Is this is that a recoverable cost?

9:33Yes, so we've received

9:39Additional funding to support the additional hours related to the four hours of care getting up to the ministry requirements

9:49Thank you. So so

9:51You started the four hours prior to this report. Is that recoverable?

9:55Will they catch you up on the expenditures at the 77 thousand eight hundred and forty four?

10:01So the seventy seven thousand relates to how much employee costs were over budget

10:11But we have been receiving funding and we are not

10:16Showing a deficit at the end of the third quarter. So we have been receiving the funding from the ministry as we've been going along

10:24Thank you. Thank you. Are there any other questions for us? I have two

10:32So the it says in the report that you did a residence and family experience survey and I was wondering if

10:40The highlights of that will be shared in our next meeting of the committee of management with us

10:46Or can we get sort of a highlight of that when that's done?

10:54through you madam chair

10:56Yes

10:59Currently we are just in the process of our data analysis of that report and

11:05In the next quarter, we're definitely they're ready to share that report high level

11:12Yes, just a high level that's great. Thanks and anything I thought you know

11:16Congratulations on working to become the first long-term care home

11:21Fin the butterfly approach and maybe you could just sort of an educational thing to sort of tell us

11:26What exactly is involved, you know, just brief but high level what's involved in the butterfly approach?

11:34To care what would be different if I was a resident there

11:44Non-butterfly approach, okay, so thank you for that

11:48Question through you

11:50Madame chair so the batter the butterfly

11:54Approach of care model is a pay is a resident-centered approach to care

12:02There's a

12:04Lot of bottle out there that we can we can do but we specifically

12:09Went into the butterfly approach. So with the

12:13Butterfly approach, it's moving away from doing clinical tests where for years

12:21rpsw and our clinical nursing staff has been

12:25Trained to do the clinical test because that's where the training

12:30Focus on so with with the butterfly approach

12:34We look at us as holistic a page resident-centered approach where and we focus on

12:41Empathy engagement of the resident and overall emotional well-being not just focusing into

12:50The test that we we know as as an organization we do an excellent

12:59job on doing that we do

13:03Best quality care, but I think this time is that philosophy of that care model that we can take on

13:10And make a big difference to our residents

13:14So I'm just gonna give you an example right now. We are focusing not only

13:23Getting into the metrics of the impact to the resident, but we're also

13:29Looking into the impact of what is it for our staff to be in a butterfly home

13:34So recently we did the work life survey because that would be our baseline metrics as well

13:40So we're looking into the engagement. We're looking at the workload. Is it getting better?

13:46How is it for the staff to care for the resident using this this philosophy of care?

13:54another initiative that we're doing is

13:57Moving away from

14:00Using the uniform

14:02So because we all know if it's a home like

14:06If you're in your own home, no one wears uniform

14:10So I think we're in the initial stage we're in we're gonna do a soft launch

14:15That we're gonna in the butterfly home area that we're gonna be accrediting is that

14:22if they can take their

14:26Take out the uniform being so clinically because we know that some especially with some generation if they

14:34See some scrub that mimic to a doctor's or or a nurse

14:39It's it's kind of give them a different feel so we want to reinforce that you're in your home

14:46We work in your home and we're gonna be doing a lot of

14:51Engagement and making making sure that every interaction of our staff has a minimum meaningful engagement. I

14:58Hope that give you a little bit of highlight

15:01But that's what we're really looking into and working really hard for that chase

15:07It

15:08Does that that makes sense to me and that sounds that sounds

15:12Sounds like a better experience for those staying there

15:15So I want to congratulate you on moving towards that and hope you wish you all the best so

15:24Are there and also on

15:28Working towards an additional 29 beds, which was great as well for our community. Are there any more questions councillor work

15:35Thanks chair downer. So just while we're talking about the butterfly model. I wanted to ask

15:40Michelle or miss Parker if she wanted to describe what the the promotion was for giving Tuesday at the Elliott because it actually ties into the

15:49Butterfly model for those existing long-term care areas and it's pretty special

15:55Through you chair downer to councillor roark. Yes

15:58I just wanted to briefly describe it if any of the counselors and we will be doing a presentation in the future about the butterfly

16:05Approach to care if you're interested you can also follow along with our project on our website

16:12There's butterfly updates as well as photos

16:15The project that councillor roark is speaking about is my front door campaign

16:21part of the approach of the butterfly model is really making that home-like environment

16:28individuals who might have

16:30cognitive decline

16:32Might need indications of way finding

16:35Is a way of doing that is actually developing and putting on a front door. So if you go to our website, you'll actually see samples of

16:43It's a special adhesive that goes over the door. That's fire retardant, but it actually identifies a door

16:50So an individual may be able to say that's my front door. It looks in

16:55Like a front door. So you get an actual picture of

16:58somebody's door that one on the website actually had

17:02Resident who picked the color of their front door. It's purple

17:05It looks like a front door and it helps them actually identify the this space as theirs

17:11And so just like we would all have individual front doors on our own homes. This is another way of actually

17:18Making it more home-like for the individuals who live at the Elliott

17:23So this was one of our giving

17:25Tuesday

17:26Campaigns we hope to raise all the money for all of our doors in long-term care, not just our butterfly came close

17:34So we're about 2000 short for supplying all of our doors. We raised just over $15,000 on giving Tuesday

17:41Which will give us a majority of the doors. I think about 68 out of the 75 that we need

17:48So we're continuing with that during the holiday season

17:52But it's really where as Lindsay our butterfly lead best describes it is

17:58Making our long-term care home feel more like a home and not a place of work

18:03Home is where we feel most comfortable comfortable loved and protected and where we feel like we belong and where we're safe

18:09And for most of us home begins at the front door and that's the front door campaign

18:16Great, thank you very much for providing that information. Are there any more questions?

18:22Okay, I'll go to the vote and the

18:27motion

18:29Is there anyone opposed?

18:31Okay, that passes

18:36So before you adjourn, I just want to wish you

18:39Michelle and your staff all the best for the holiday seasons coming up and in the New York year and

18:46I think you've had a fairly good year
