Support the campaign.

Ontario law caps what any one person can give a municipal candidate at $1,200, and bans corporate and union money outright. So a ward campaign gets funded by its neighbours or it doesn't get funded. What you give here pays for the postcards, the lawn signs, and the door-knocking that put this in front of Ward 5.

You can send your donation straight from your bank instead. In the message box on the transfer, include your full name and mailing address — Ontario law requires the campaign to record that for every contribution, and the same rules on this page apply: individuals residing in Ontario only, and $1,200 maximum per person.

How donations work under Ontario law

Individuals only. Only individuals residing in Ontario may donate. Corporations and unions are not permitted to donate.
$1,200 maximum per candidate. This is the legal limit set by the Municipal Elections Act.
$5,000 aggregate across Guelph candidates. No individual can donate more than $5,000 in total across all Guelph municipal candidates in 2026.
Disclosure of donations over $100. The campaign is legally required to disclose the name, address, and amount of every contribution above $100 in its financial filings.
No tax receipts. Municipal campaign contributions in Ontario are not tax-deductible.
Refunds. If you donate and later determine you have exceeded the aggregate cap or are otherwise ineligible, contact us immediately and we'll arrange a refund.
