16:34I just had a quick question with regard to the report,

16:39capital budget adjustments, it's the report with the chart.

16:43And I've noticed that on the second page,

16:45we've got the removal of the downtown pedestrian bridge,

16:49stating that the project was canceled

16:51and the remaining budget was returned to the reserves.

16:54I was just wondering if you could speak to that project

16:56and where we might see it come up again in the future.

17:02So yes, that project was canceled,

17:06just because it wasn't constructible as we thought

17:10due to unknown site conditions,

17:11but we are expecting that that money,

17:15we still have to reconcile some of the work that has been done.

17:20So we're expecting that that's going,

17:22that money will be returned to the reserve

17:24and we are expecting that through the EA

17:26for the Mac-Tanel bridge that that will be looked at again

17:29to see what the feasibility of that is including

17:31as part of that bigger project.

18:07I noticed the line in terms of the paramedic overruns.

18:10So did the city or the county receive any funds

18:13from the province to assist with the paramedic services

18:17going to homeless services for those who are unhoused?

18:21And do we have an estimate of additional costs

18:23of that service be extended?

18:42I believe the question that you were asking about

18:47was if there was any funding for paramedics

18:51for the unhoused or the homeless?

18:55No, there is not.

18:56There was nothing specific for that.

18:57We did have some funding for the community paramedic program,

19:01but not that specifically as you asked.

19:04Okay, so through you, Chair Caron, to Mr. Godfrey.

19:08So we expect that the city will continue

19:10to provide those services likely for the unhoused, right?

19:13And do we expect that there will be

19:16any provincial funding for those services?

19:19Through the chair to Councillor O'Rourke,

19:21with respect to the funding opportunities,

19:23I'm unaware of that at the present time,

19:26but obviously paramedics will continue

19:27to provide the services to all the citizens of Guelph

19:31to the best of their ability.

19:33Oh, I know they'll do their best, thanks.

19:36And I have one other question through you, Chair Caron.

19:42In terms of capital,

19:44so we know we received $13.5 million

19:46from the federal government for the library

19:49in terms of green and efficiency measures.

19:53So can you confirm for us that actually wipes out

19:57what we had been referring to as a library levy?

20:04So through the chair to Councillor O'Rourke,

20:09essentially what that amount did,

20:13we had to share it proportionately

20:15between all of the funding sources on that project.

20:19And so related to the tax levy component,

20:23it definitely did reduce that extra levy

20:30that we were charging.

20:32At this point today, I can't speak exactly

20:34if it was fully the full amount,

20:37but it essentially it reduced the amount of debt

20:41that we'll have to issue overall for that project.

20:43And so it absolutely had the impact

20:45of reducing the amount of taxes overall

20:47that are going to that project.
