8:22:01and to have any kind of narrative or anything like that throughout the entire day of us not

8:22:08i actually felt i actually did feel like there is still unity in the room and hopefully with the

8:22:13community around that issue and so i just want to i just want to say thank you to everyone involved

8:22:19long day on that on this issue and rightly so um i excuse me i just also wanted to say you know um

8:22:27it is a moment here for me just to highlight because i took some notes throughout the day

8:22:33is often very lost on what we have done so please bear with me for about 45 seconds

8:22:42um we did limit short-term rentals in this community that that cannot be out there that

8:22:48we didn't because we did um we have advocated to not allow appeals on supportive housing as an example

8:22:58someone suggested i think today that we should do that we we don't have the ability to do that locally

8:23:04but we have asked and asked and asked and asked at the province to not allow appeals on those types

8:23:08of things we did give an extra three or two four million dollars in the budget towards these very

8:23:17issues of housing through to the county and in perpetuity that is going to be sitting at around

8:23:22four point six million dollars four years ago this city had zero supportive housing units that were

8:23:29under under our watch as of this year 108 i believe supportive housing units will be fully open okay

8:23:40um uh we had the motion to create the encampment team to go and help people with that just just

8:23:48addressed in october we had a motion of council to put a hundred thousand dollars towards encampment

8:23:55issues uh i i just want to make sure that it's also noted that there has been private sector

8:24:04positioning in this in regards to helping the homeless as well starlight and

8:24:12skyline as well donating land and their resources well over a million million and a half dollars

8:24:18towards supportive housing for the homeless that's part of the unity equation in our community that

8:24:25we should be very very proud of along with the home for good campaigns so i i just want to end

8:24:31because on these bullet points these things that council and the community has pulled together on

8:24:38to get done and we should celebrate those things and they should not be lost as we also try to

8:24:46as we also try to get into this issue as well i just wanted to make sure i ended the evening on

8:24:51on that okay um and oftentimes you know people are sort of delegating or coming at us which is

8:24:58they're right and that's how kind of it works but there is a moment where this community actually

8:25:04we should be standing beside each other and having our collective energy pointed to especially the

8:25:11province on this issue so you know instead of sort of at each other sometimes with these issues we

8:25:18should be standing together as we try to address these issues with with unity to the province on

8:25:25especially trying to step up please all right thank you council i appreciate that and with that

8:25:31councillor busentil is willing to move adjournment councillor quas and is willing to second adjournment

8:25:36and i'm assuming that that will be unanimous as well it is so thank you very much for sticking

8:25:42with us have a great night everybody
