41:43Just so people are very clear about the recommendation, the city is in a really tough

41:50spot if it tries to regulate where security cameras are pointed, etc. But if people have an

41:54issue, they can still contact Guelph Police. It becomes a civil matter if they feel that their

42:00privacy is being infringed upon. Is that what folks should take away from this report?

42:06Through the chair to Councillor O'Rourke, that's correct. So if there's still issues,

42:10by all means Guelph Police can be contacted. As part of our guidelines or information, we would

42:15provide that to the public as part of the information package. Great. So there's help

42:21for people to try and resolve it amicably if a neighbour's got a security camera pointed,

42:26particularly in their backyard or in a private space, and that after that it becomes a civil matter,

43:02Very quick. This is a perfect example of the importance of people reading what the actual

43:12recommendations are and the reports that are in the public realm for people to consider,

43:17because the immediate response in the public was the City of Guelph is banning video surveillance.

43:24That's what the immediate response was, and that has... It's nowhere near Madam Chair

43:29what this report is, and in fact, there's barely any action being taken. It's common for municipalities

43:36to look into bylaws and look at things that can be suggested. So our City staff did that. I want to

43:42thank our City staff for doing that, they've come out with, I think, is a good recommendation,

43:47but I'm noticing more and more and more often how the knee-jerk reaction of misinformation

43:56and purposeful disinformation is occurring, and this was a very prime example of that, Madam Chair.

44:02And so I thought it would just be before I call the vote. I would just say, you know, as a reminder

44:06for the public, contact me or your councillors or send in an email and get some clarity before

44:14rushing to judgment on narratives that are untrue. Thank you. Thank you for that reminder.
