1:55It's six o'clock and this is our Chief Administrative Officer

1:58Recruitment Selection and Performance Subcommittee Meeting.

2:02And so I'm just gonna ask us to stand if you are able

2:07and listen to and acknowledge our national anthem.

3:38And just for a moment of silence before we continue.

3:41Silent reflection.

3:51Great, thank you in our territorial acknowledgement.

3:53As we gather, let us take time to reflect on our privilege

3:56to live and work here in Guelph,

3:57a city that's built over rich indigenous histories.

4:00We're guests here and we should reflect upon the responsibility

4:03to care for this land,

4:04the people who live here today and the generations to come.

4:07If our actions today can move us towards reconciliation,

4:10we should take pause and make those decisions

4:12with intention and gratitude.

4:15This place we call Guelph has served as traditional lands

4:17in a place of refuge for many peoples over time,

4:20but more specifically, the Aniwannarok

4:22and the Honehoshone.

4:24This land is held as the treaty lands and territory

4:27with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

4:30Now Guelph lies directly adjacent to the Haldemund Tract

4:33and is part of a long established traditional hunting grounds

4:35for the six nations of the Grand River.

4:38Many First Nations, Inuit and Métis people

4:40who have come from across Turtle Island

4:42called Guelph home today.

4:44Okay, with that everybody, just right off the top,

4:48I am looking for any disclosure of pecuniary interest

4:51or any general nature thereof.

4:54Not hearing, not seeing anybody jump up and down

4:56for that one, so that one's done.

4:58But confirmation of minutes is the first recommendation

5:01that the minutes of the open CAO recruitment selection

5:04and performance subcommittee meeting

5:05held on March 26th, 2024 be confirmed as recorded

5:09and without being read.

5:53commercial, financial or labor relations information

5:56that is supplied in confidence

5:58to the municipality or local board.

6:00And the title as described on the open agenda

6:03is selection of an executive search firm

6:07for the 2024 Chief Administrative Officer recruitment.

6:11Would someone be willing to move that motion for me please?

6:24to consider that item and as usual,

6:27I will pop out when done to give a high level summary

1:48:57For my summary, it would be very brief

1:48:59because we do have a motion from closed session

1:49:03that is going to be coming out here,

1:49:04but basically the committee went into closed session

1:49:10under what was described in the open agenda

1:49:13under section 239, 2A of the Municipal Act

1:49:16for the selection of an executive search firm

1:49:19for the 2024 Chief Administrative Officer recruitment.

1:49:23And we went through that process in there

1:49:25and we did come to a conclusion

1:49:27as to the firm that we would like to use.

1:49:31And because of that, we are coming in open session

1:49:33to look to validate that and ratify that out here.

1:49:36And so the motion is being brought out here by Chair Downer.

1:49:42So once we put it on the screen, I'll read it out.

1:50:00All right, so that Boyd in Canada be selected

1:50:02as the executive search firm for the purpose

1:50:04of supporting the 2024 Chief Administrative Officer

1:50:06recruitment and that the Chief Administrative Officer

1:50:09and Acting General Manager of Human Resources

1:50:12be directed to execute and finalize

1:50:14to the satisfaction of the city solicitor

1:50:16any agreement or document required

1:50:18to formalize this arrangement.

1:50:21Thank you.

1:50:22And Vice Chair, Kate, you're willing to second that.
