0:13Okay, it's six o'clock. So if you're joining us online or here at City Hall, welcome to our

0:19City Council planning meeting for the month of May.

0:24I'm going to call this meeting to order

0:26and

0:28Margaritory is home and so he's asked me to chair today. So we can start with, oh Canada, so please stand if you're able.

0:34We will take a moment for silent reflection and

2:24we'll just move into our territorial acknowledgement.

2:28As we gather, let us take time to reflect on our privilege to live and work in Guelph, a city built over rich

2:35Indigenous histories. We are guests here and we should reflect upon the

2:39responsibility to care for this land, the people who live here today and the generations to come. If our actions today can move us toward

2:47reconciliation, we should take pause and make those decisions with intention and gratitude.

2:52This place we call Guelph has served as traditional lands and a place of refuge for many people over time,

2:58but more specifically the Attawanderonk and the Haudenosaunee.

3:03This land is held as the treaty lands and territory with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.

3:08Guelph lies directly adjacent to the Haldeman Tract and is part of a long-established traditional hunting ground for the six nations of the Grand River.

3:16Many First Nations, Inuit and Métis people who have come from across Turtle Island call Guelph home today.

3:22Okay, and with that is there any disclosure of pecuniary interest or general nature thereof?

3:32Seeing none, we have two items on the Council Consent Agenda tonight.

3:37Item 2.1 is 2187 Gordon Street intention to demolish a cultural heritage resource and

3:44Item 2.2 is 9 Omar Street removal from municipal register of cultural heritage properties and notice of intention to demolish.

3:52Did anyone want either item pulled?

3:55Okay, seeing none. Can I have somebody move the Consent Agenda items?

4:02Councillor Downer seconded by Councillor Bousetail.

4:06Any opposed to items on the Consent Agenda?

4:10Okay, seeing none that is passed unanimously. So thank you to staff.

4:20So we move right to bylaws and those are going to be moved by Councillor Downer.

4:432941 and 2004,

4:462094 be approved as amended subject to section 284-114 of the Municipal Act.
