4:05I just had a question on page 3 and this I should know is that the line for the Guelph city of Guelph

4:12Funding that amount and perhaps this is for staff. Is that a full

4:16Flow through funding from somewhere. How does how does that funding come about?

4:20Through the chair Councillor Bousichel, can you just state again which line item you're looking at so we can make sure we're answering correctly?

4:49It's on page 3 city of Guelph funding 582 282 is the envelope and it's consistent throughout there

4:56I was just wondering if it is a flow through amount or what exactly that how that happens

5:03Yeah, so through the chair, that's the end. That's the monthly funding that the city provides

5:09And so can you just back it up for me into the city's basket then and how is that funding created is that?

5:16Through the ministry is that something how do we?

5:21So that's through the chair that's just through our tax-based operating budget

5:26And so that was established at the time that our arrangement

5:29Through our long-term care agreement was set up with the Elliott

5:33We are in the process of relooking at that agreement how that funding is set

5:37But that is just established each year through the annual operating budget and the Elliott brings their budget forward to council for your

5:44Consideration and then that amount is just set as a base amount and then and then just allocated across the year. Thank you

6:03I just want I had one question, but then I also just wanted to congratulate the Elliott on meeting

6:08It's four hours of care well in advance of the provincial deadline of March 31st 2025. So

6:16Congratulations, maybe you want to tell us how you work that magic

6:24Through you chair downer to councillor O'Rourke. I think it's a team effort as far as recruiting and retention goes of our staff

6:32Looking at the needs of our residents and our organization. So I wouldn't say it's one thing

6:38I think it's a combination of many things. I think that's fantastic

6:43Through you chair downer I have two other more substantive questions, but I think you know, we give credit where credit is due your

6:49Right on budget with a tiny little surplus and you're meeting your four hours of care. I think it's great

6:54Just at the very last page page four of your report

6:59You indicate that

7:02Just what the activity is on that

7:05On the construction financing and so I'm just asking I'm wondering whether there any cash flow concerns

7:13Or financing requirements for the the project to add long-term care beds

7:28We've been working closely with the city staff to make sure that our cash flow is coming through as needed to pay our

7:36Expenses related to the project. So we've been working well with the team

7:40Giving them regular updates on our cash flow needs and then making sure we're receiving the cash in time for our payments

7:45Great and my last question through you chair downer is also about the addition of those long-term care beds

7:51I'm just curious. So we receive a product status report. It's also in the public documents for for the Elliott's next board meeting

7:59it indicates that there is

8:01some issues in terms of

8:04Building code

8:07Compliance and correcting those and so I'm just wondering what the status is of the relationship with the city and how those are being worked through

8:14Through the chair to councillor O'Rourke. So certainly

8:17The the Elliott is working through and the the Elliott's up product management team and architect are working through the city's building department

8:25like any other project and so

8:27We we as the the liaison stay very arms length to that as we do for any project because whether it's a city project or a

8:34Local board project we have to go through the same process with our building department as we do for any external

8:39Project and so we do stay arms length to that

8:41However, I can confirm that I did connect today

8:45Just to make sure because that there was that reference in there

8:48We are still within what is sort of normal expected timelines on there in regular

8:54Conversation on an almost daily basis and there is no no concern that those

9:00outstanding issues won't be able to be resolved within

9:04Expected timelines in order for the project to be able to still be completed and so from what I understand

9:10Everything is still moving ahead as it would be expected to be and as a sort of a normal kind of communication for a project of this size

9:18between the project team and our building services department

9:30So my question to you is just saying about

9:34congratulating you on the meeting the direct hours and exceeding it actually

9:38ahead of time so well done and I notice

9:42The butterfly approach you've started that program it you've started one. How long does that program take?

9:47Is there like one kind of a quarter that you do or?

9:53So in response chair downer this is a

9:5718 month program. It's actually a philosophy of care

10:02There's eight modules of training of which then at one once that's completed

10:07We will be seeking accreditation from an independent body that will certify us as a butterfly certified home

10:16And it is going exceedingly well, and we are quite pleased with the outcomes thus far

10:21So you've noticed in the difference already just with the one. Well, that's amazing. Yes. That's great. Can you can you?

10:28Expand and what those changes are that you're noticing?

10:33So some of the changes I would highlight initially is our staff no longer wear uniforms and

10:40The philosophy of care is we're working in someone's home and would you wear a uniform if you entered someone's home?

10:47now a

10:48Contractor would but if you we have the privilege of working in their home and as an individual

10:54We want to make it as home like as possible. So that was a significant change and it has

11:02Changed the environment of staff in the comfort level of engaging with the residents. So that's been quite significant

11:10So that's just a small example, and there's a few other ones as well. That's great. That's interesting

11:16That's interesting how small changes but that actually might be a rather large one for the staff working

11:24Can make such a difference. Thanks for that
