4:20Good afternoon. Good evening everyone.
4:23Today is Tuesday, August the 13th, 2024.
4:27It is just after 5.30 p.m. and I'd like to call
4:30the Chief Administrative Officer Recruitment Selection
4:33and Performance Subcommittee Committee meeting to order.
4:38Thank you so much for joining us,
4:41both virtually and here in person.
4:42We have a full complement of our committee.
4:45So with that, let's do what we should be doing,
4:50which is standing if you are able
4:52for the acknowledgement of our national anthem.
4:56All right. Thank you so much and just a moment of silent reflection.
6:47All right. Now, our territorial acknowledgement.
6:50As we gather, let us take time to reflect on our privilege to live in work here in Guelph,
6:54a city that is built over rich indigenous histories.
6:57We're guests here and we should reflect upon the responsibility to care for
7:00the land and the people who live here today and the generations to come.
7:04For actions today can move us towards our conciliation.
7:06We should take pause and make those decisions with intention and gratitude.
7:10This place we call Guelph has served as traditional lands in a place of refuge for
7:14many peoples over time, but more specifically,
7:16the Aniwaterok and the Hone Shone.
7:19This land is held as the treaty lands in territory with
7:22the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
7:24Guelph lies directly adjacent to the Haldeman Track and is part of
7:27the long-established traditional hunting grounds for the six nations of the Grand River.
7:31Many First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples who have come from across Turtle Island,
7:35call Guelph home today.
7:39All right. With that, thank you again for joining us.
7:43Any disclosure of pecuniary interest or any general nature thereof from the members?
7:48Seeing no member disclose anything,
7:51I'll consider that matter closed and we are looking immediately to move into a closed meeting.
7:57It is under section 239,
8:032B and D of the Municipal Act.
8:06Personal matters about an identifiable individual,
8:09including municipal or local board employees, labor relations, or employee negotiations.
8:16The title of this is review of the Chief Administrative Officer finalist assessments.
8:22Would someone be willing to move that?
8:25Chair O'Rourke and Vice Chair Caton will second.
8:30And is there anything else on this matter?
8:33I can call the vote.
8:34No. Okay. Anyone against moving into closed?
8:37That's nobody's. That's unanimous.
8:39So we'll move into closed on this matter and when done,
8:42I will come out and give a high-level summary as usual.
8:45Thank you so much.
2:06:03All right. Thank you so much, everyone.
2:06:05I'm just going to call the meeting in the open session back to
2:06:07order for our Chief Administrative Officer Recruitment Selection and Performance Subcommittee.
2:06:12We did move into closed session as was described in the open agenda
2:06:19under the title of review of Chief Administrative Officer finalist assessments.
2:06:24And so we did have a very long conversation as a committee in regards to that.
2:06:29And at the end of that conversation, we did give direction to staff.
2:06:34And so that's the only summary that I'm bringing out from that
2:06:40closed session to the public session.
2:06:42And with that, I'm just going to move to the next section,
2:06:48which is just for minutes of the open CAO recruitment selection and performance
2:06:53subcommittee meetings that were held on June 24th, July 4th,
2:06:57and 12th, 2024 to be confirmed as recorded and without being read.
2:07:02Chair or Rourke is willing to move that for us.
2:07:05And I'm thinking Chair Allt would love to second that for us.
2:07:11Thank you. And I will call the vote.
2:07:14Is there anyone against those minutes?
2:07:19Hearing and seeing none, that's passed unanimously.
2:07:22Thank you very much for all the work to the committee.
2:07:25And I will now ask for a motion to adjourn,
2:07:28which I think Vice Chair Caton would be willing to do.
2:07:32And Vacation Counselor Downer will also second the adjournment.
2:07:39And is there anyone against that?
2:07:42Nobody. Have a great rest of the day.
2:07:44Thank you very much, everyone. Bye-bye.
