Special Council Meeting

0:40Alright, good afternoon everybody.

0:42It is Wednesday, July the 5th 2023. It is 1 30 p.m. and I'm calling the meeting to order.

0:50It is our committee meeting today, but before we kick into the committee meeting at 2 o'clock as normal, we do have

0:59a recommendation to move into closed session as is provided on the open agenda.

1:05And it is under the title 12 pool street. That's with an E pool street Ontario land tribunal update.

1:15That is under section 239 to E and F of the municipal act relating to litigation.

1:21Or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals affecting the

1:25municipality or local board and advice that is subject to solicitor client privilege, including

1:30communications necessary for that purpose.

1:35Before I call the vote, it's wonderful to know I did get official regrets from councillor Downer for

1:39today for both meetings. With that, is there someone that would be, before I call the vote on

1:45that, is there any disclosure of pecuniary interest or any general nature there of for the closed item?

1:54I don't hear or see anybody. So would someone be willing to move to go into closed council or

2:00Rourke will do that. Councillor Billings will second. And I'll call the vote.

2:08Is there anyone against moving into closed for that item? Again, hearing and seeing nobody,

2:13I call that matter over with done unanimous. And for the public that has joined us, we are going to

2:21take a break. You are going to take a break from watching us going into a closed session.

2:27For a little bit on that matter, when I come back, I'm happy to provide a high level summary.

2:33And we'll go from there. So I'll turn over to the clerks to set up the screens for us to move

2:38into closed. Okay, I'd like to call the special meeting back to order, please. Thank you very

19:20much, everyone. And so I just want to give my high level summary for the public and our media

19:29partners. So as was listed on the agenda, 12 Pool Street, Ontario land tribunal update. So we did

19:37receive information from our legal staff in regards to that tribunal. And then council did give

19:45direction to our staff on that matter. Okay, so that's all I have right now. And that's it for

19:55the summary. So with that, I'd like to ask for adjournment of this meeting before we kick into

20:00our committee meeting, please. Councillor Goller, Councillor Klassen will second that. And is anyone

20:06against adjournment of this meeting? That is unanimous. Thank you so much. And so what we'll do
