CAO Recruitment, Selection and Performance Sub-committee

2:16Okay, good afternoon everyone. I am just calling this meeting to order. It's Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.

2:22It is 12 o'clock for the Chief Administrative Officer, Recruitment, Selection and Performance Subcommittee meeting.

2:29To begin with, if we could please rise as we recognize our national anthem. Thank you. Just a moment for silent reflection.

4:01Great. Thank you. And our territorial acknowledgement. As we gather,

4:12let us take time to reflect on our privilege to live in work-carrying Guelph, a city built over rich indigenous histories.

4:18We are guests here and we should reflect upon the responsibility to care for this land, the people who live here today and

4:24the generations to come. If our actions today can move us towards reconciliation,

4:29we should take pause and make those decisions with intention and gratitude.

4:33This place we call Guelph has served as traditional lands and a place of refuge for many peoples over time,

4:39but more specifically the Ano-Wanarok and the Honolashoni.

4:43This land is held as the treaty lands in territory with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and Guelph lies directly

4:48adjacent to the Haldemann Track and is part of a long-established traditional hunting grounds for the Six Nations of the Grand River.

4:55Many First Nations Inuit and Métis peoples who have come from across Turtle Island call Guelph home today.

5:03Thank you. Any disclosure of pecuniary interest, any general nature thereof for the item in front of us?

5:08Hearing and seeing none, we have one item to move into closed and it is under

5:17the title of Chief Administrative Officer Performance Review Mid-Year Check-In.

5:22Section 2392BND of the Municipal Act regarding personal matters about an identifiable individual,

5:30including municipal or local board employees and labor relations or employee negotiations.

5:36Would someone be willing to move that for me? Counts Chair, Caron, Chair, Guller, will second it. Is there anyone against that?

5:44Hearing none, that's unanimous. We will move into a closed session and do a high-level

1:04:45Again, that was in regards to the check-in for the CAO in regards to the 2024 goals and discussion

1:04:53at a high level about moving into 2025 goals. There was no decisions made or direction that was made given on those matters.

1:05:02It was just a conversation and we received some information and that's all. So with that, I'm looking for an adjournment.
