0:01Good afternoon, everyone. I'd like to call to order the March 6th, 2025 meeting of Heritage
0:06Guelph. Welcome to community members, staff, and invited guests who are attending this meeting.
0:11As we gather, let us take time to reflect on our privilege to live and work in Guelph,
0:16a city built over rich Indigenous histories. We are guests here and we need to reflect upon
0:21the responsibility to care for this land and the people who live here today and the generations
0:26If our actions today can move us towards reconciliation, we should take pause
0:31and make those decisions with intention and gratitude. This place we call Guelph has served
0:37as traditional lands in the place of refuge for many peoples over time,
0:41the more specifically the Adder-Aderong and the Honored Shona. This land is held as the
0:47treaty lands and territory with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Guelph lies directly
0:53adjacent to the Halden and Trapped and is part of the long-established traditional hunting ground
0:58for the six nations of the Grand River. Many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people have come
1:05across Turtle Island called Guelph home today. Community members, are there any disclosures
1:12of pecuniary interest? If so, please raise your hand right now. Okay, I am not seeing any,
1:21and I would like to share that I have received regrets from Chair Sarah Epp,
1:28and I believe Alex Crocker as well, and Winnie, I believe there is a couple other
1:41regrets. Yeah, excellent, David, we've joined us today. So yeah. Okay, okay, so thank you so much.
1:51May I kindly have members to move and second their approval of the minutes from the previous
1:55meetings on February 6th, 2025, and February 20th, 2025. I'll move to approve the minutes.
2:04Okay, thank you Miranda, and then I think I saw Kelly's hand as seconder, and then all in favor.
2:10Let's see everyone's hands. Okay, thank you so much. So that has been carried.
2:19So next we will move on to the Consent Agenda items. So we have seven items in our Consent Agenda,
2:26and they are all draft Council designation reports for the following properties.
2:30328 Victoria Road South, 136 Glasgow Street North, 52 Paisley Street, 54 Paisley Street,
2:3956 Paisley Street, 15 and 17 Paisley Street, and 9 and 13 Paisley Street.
2:47Unless there are any questions or comments from anyone,
2:51then I will put the, sorry, I will put on consent, and I would like to ask for a mover and a seconder
3:01to move these motions forward. If there are no questions, I'll move to bring the,
3:14I don't see any questions coming up. So Miranda, would you like to move? Yes, I'll move the motions
3:22forward. Yep. Okay, thank you so much. And do I have a seconder? Okay, I see Kelly all in favor.
3:28I saw Laura's hand as well. Okay, so the Consent Agenda has been carried. So we'll move on to the
3:35next agenda item, which is now item 3.1. McDonnell and Allen Structure's Municipal Class Environment
3:43Assessment, Allen's Bridge Preferred Solution. So the motion for this agenda, for this item,
3:51is that item 3.1 McDonnell and Allen Structure's Municipal Class Environmental Assessment,
3:57Allen's Bridge Preferred Solution on March 6, 2025, Parage Golf Agenda be deferred to April 3,
4:052025, Parage Golf Meeting. Are there any questions or comments on that proposed motion?
4:15You know, I'll see any hands. May I please have a mover for that motion? Okay, Kelly, and then
4:22seconder, I see Laura and then Allen's favor. Okay, that's been carried.
4:29We'll move on to the next item, 3.2 Evaluation of Campus Properties for Part 4 Designation.
4:40So the proposed motion for this item is that item 3.2 Evaluation of Campus Properties for
4:45Part 4 Designation on March 6, 2025, Heritage Golf Agenda be deferred to April 3, 2025,
4:53Parage Golf Meeting. Are there any questions and comments about this item?
4:59Well, may I please have a mover for the motion?
5:03See Miranda and Laura, seconder and Allen's favor. Okay, so that has been carried.
5:11Moving quickly through this, everyone. Fast discovered. Yeah.
5:16Okay, so I have no chair announcements today. So we'll move on to
5:24Germans unless there are any staff announcements. Yeah, I just wanted to let the committee know.
5:30So we sent out the call for voluntary designations in mid-February. As of this morning, we have
5:3860 property owners interested in having the properties evaluated. So that's honestly
5:44in order of magnitude more than I thought we were going to have. So that's a really good thing.
5:48So I think we'll be on track for sure to get 50 designations done this year.
5:54That's great, Jack. Good to hear.
5:57Yeah, yeah, it's really, yeah, it's really, really heartening. Yeah.
6:03That's it from me unless Stephen has anything. I have nothing else.
6:11Okay. Well, thanks for that wonderful update, Jack. That's great news.
6:17So I'll move on to our German now. May I please have members to move in second German from this
6:23meeting? Hey, Laura and then Miranda, seconder. All in favor. Okay. Thank you. So that's carried.
6:34So the meeting is officially adjourned. The next Heritage Golf meeting will be hosted on April 3,
6:402025. Thanks, everyone. Have a good day. Thanks, everyone. Thank you. Thank you.
