Special Council Meeting

3:30All right, good afternoon everybody. It is 12 o'clock January 14th 2025 and I'd like to call

3:37the special council meeting to order please. Thank you for joining us. And right off the top I am

3:45looking for authority to move into a closed meeting and it is going to be as titled 384

3:53Crawley Road Ontario Land Tribunal update which is section 239 to E and F of the Municipal Act

4:01regarding litigation or potential litigation including matters before administrative tribunals

4:06affecting the municipality or local board and advice that is subject to solicitor

4:10client privilege including communications necessary for that purpose. Now before I call

4:15the vote on that is there any disclosure of pecaneering interest or any general nature thereof

4:19for that item? No seeing hearing none we'll continue to move through then would someone be

4:25willing to move to go in to closed? All to imboositile we'll do that for us. I'll call the vote

4:32does anyone against moving into closed? Nobody okay great we'll move into closed for a moment

4:40and I'll do a high-level summary when when we come out with anything further thank you so much.

57:13Thank you. So just coming out of closed session Council did move to go into closed session under

57:20the title as described on the agenda of 384 Crawley Road Ontario Land Tribunal update.

57:27We did receive information from our staff in regards to this matter and we did have a direction

57:35actually given in camera on that which is why we are now going to do that same direction

57:42for a vote out here in the open session so I'd like to ask Councillor O'Rourke

57:50and Councillor Chew is willing to second if you wouldn't mind reading out the

57:54motion for us please Councillor. Certainly Marigold three oh can we get it back up okay

58:18the Council authorizes and directs the general manager of planning and building services in

58:23consultation with the general manager of engineering and transportation services

58:27and the city solicitor to approve a conditional site plan for phase zero of an industrial

58:32development at 384 Crawley Road and authorize tree removal on the site as part of conditional approval.

58:41Okay thank you very much is there anything more on this matter before I call the vote?

58:47I'm hearing and seeing none I will just say that I am very excited for this opportunity for the city

58:57something that I've been not just I others have been working alongside on this for quite some time.

59:05I am in full support of this because of what is to come and I would I would like to submit that

59:16these types of opportunities are a signal to not just people internally but externally to

59:23our city that we are open for business and that we are open for collaborating with people

59:30to get things done and I will continue to always hold fast to that myself and I will do whatever

59:37is necessary to make sure that these things succeed for our community so I'm very supportive of this

59:45with that I'll call the vote is anyone against?

59:49Councillor Allt and Katen are the only ones against this opportunity okay thank you very much
