7:04Oh, there you are there you are
7:09Sorry counselor downer we have had we haven't been able to log in so we just have one laptop was very with the three of us
7:15So we missed the first part so our apologies
7:18Okay, we just we all we did was confirm the minutes and and thank you for your patience and and being able to join us
7:26I just wanted to know if we were at the quarterly report part
7:30And I just want to know if there's anything that you wanted to add or highlight that's in the quarterly report
7:39Okay, hi, I'll take that. Thank you and through you madam chair
7:44We're pleased
7:47To report on the progress of the Iliad long-term care residence
7:51Are key to report overviews our achievements and key initiatives
7:56From this report, we would just like to highlight a few areas
8:01With our target to achieve the four hours of direct care this quarter we added one full-time registered nurse on the night shift
8:11And three PSW in the evening
8:14Our nurse calls call bell system replacement and one their guard system installation project started on June 5th
8:23The installation has been completed and our team is working on staff training on the new system
8:31Three critical incident reports have been reported to the Ministry of Long-term Care and Q2
8:37Two critical incidents related to the disease outbreak and a fall resulted in a resident being taken to the hospital with a significant change
8:46With the implementation of our skin and wound module our quality improvement plan on reducing the number of residents with new or worsened
9:00Stage two to four pressure injuries has improved from 3% in Q1 to 1.5% in Q2
9:11With that, thank you and for our finance report our CFO Theresa will may have additional comments
9:20Otherwise, we would be happy to answer all your questions for this report
9:29Thank you, Ms. Medina. Does Mr. Wolf have any comments to add to this?
9:37Oh, it's Theresa. Sorry. That's okay.
9:40Just to say that our long-term care results for the first six months of the year were positive. We have a surplus of just over $320,000 which is a bit above budget
9:52The significant contributing factors to this were our occupancy rate which was higher than we had budgeted
9:59And you will see just to highlight the four hours of care there is an increase in both the revenues and the expenses as we have built up to meet those new requirements
10:14Okay. Thank you very much. Are there any questions of the Elliott staff? Councillor Orr work?
10:25Thank you chair downer. I'm just wondering if the Elliott would like to give the opportunity to give us an update on the destruction of additional 29 long-term care beds and are the communities eager to hear that?
10:36Through you chair downer to councillor work. What I can update you on right now is we're going through the tendering process and we're awaiting the tendering book or the tender book to come back expecting it sometime next week
10:55At this point in time we've had approval to move forward with construction for the ministry so we met the August 31 deadline which I believe council was made aware of
11:04And that is where we're at at this point in time. So I trust that helps with the update. So we and the sign for the ministry has been erected in front of the building awaiting the formal announcement.
11:19That's great. Thanks chair downer. I have a couple more questions if that's okay.
11:22Yes go ahead please. So inflation is the word of the day. It's the hot issue in the news right now. I'm just wondering two things what you expect the inflationary impacts to be on your operations and whether you're still having sort of sectoral HR challenges.
11:41So just wondering what are the trends that that the Elliott is contending with over the next six months.
11:48Thank you for the question on the revenue sorry on the inflationary side. We are seeing a pressure on expenses. However, we budgeted in such a way that it's not impacting our year to date results compared to budget.
12:13I think we accurately estimated what that inflationary impact might be during our budget process and will continue to monitor that and look at that through our forecasting process process for the rest of the year on the human resources side or hiring size.
12:37For our hiring side we don't see any attrition at this point there's nothing. It's really pretty stable.
12:47And we don't anticipate impact.
12:51Wow. Okay, that's great news. And my last question is do you have a fundraiser coming up.
12:59Thank you for the question. Councillor O'Rourke. Yes, we have a fundraiser September 24 Sunday.
13:07It's called the Great Escape Fall Fair, and it will be taking place between 11 and 230 and council would like to join us on that day to help us raise the funds that will go towards their long term care bed expansion as well as other programs for our residents of the home.
13:22We'd love to see you all there. Thank you. And tickets can be purchased online by the website. So, thank you.
13:32Thank you. So that was I just I was having trouble hearing you so that was September 24 and what was the time.
13:3911 till 230pm.
13:4211 till 230. Great. Thank you.
13:46Are there any other questions?
13:49The Elliott staff or comments.
13:55Things like things are coming along.
13:59And I appreciate that update.
14:02Okay, could we have a motion to for the quarterly report to be received that the 2023 q2 quarterly report on the operations of the Elliott long term care resident be received.
14:19Councillor class and second by Councillor out. Okay, sorry, Councillor out. I'm sorry, you're not a member of the committee, but I appreciate you being here.
14:31So, Councillor to you. Well, he had his hand up to thank you.
14:37Other. So no questions, no more comments. I appreciate that.
14:42Okay. So, I just wanted to check if there's any of the chair. I don't have any announcements. If our staff have any announcements.
14:53Or if there are any other announcements from the Elliott community, we've already heard about the one on the 24th.
14:59Other none.
15:01Great.
15:06Thank you very much then. Okay.
15:08So I would move I would ask for a motion to adjourn.
15:14Councillor Boussatelle seconded by Councillor class and we are now and anybody opposed.
15:21We are now adjourned. Thank you.
